North Stamford
North Stamford is a rural haven within Stamford’s hustle & bustle: deep country quiet with the vibrant city just a short drive away. The StamfordMuseum and Nature Center, the former mansion of the late Henri Bendel, features a restored 18th century barn, animal farm, lake, art and science exhibits and indoor and outdoor concerts. The Nature Conservancy’s trails cover 136 acres of woods and fields. Just up the road is the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens which contains 93 acres of parkland, gardens, landscapes, and hiking trails, that focus on the regional plants, ecology and character of Southwestern New England. Bartlett is open year-round to visitors and students of natural history and horticulture. There is an eclectic mix of home styles and settings that will satisfy the most discriminating buyer.
Westover
Unlike most rural areas of Fairfield County, Westover has the best of both worlds – beauty of the “country” with the neighborhood’s private, natural setting plus all the benefits of city living because of its close proximity to all that Stamford’s exciting downtown has to offer, including all forms of entertainment, restaurants, commuting, shopping and schools. There are also two beautiful parks in this quiet, western area of Stamford. Fort Stamford with historical significance dating back to the Revolutionary War and the Mianus River Park, a 300+ acre preserve of mature forest, dramatic landscape and the bucolic Mianus River providing countless outdoor and recreational pursuits including hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking, bird watching and fishing. This is an area of single family homes varying in size and style.
